Places API Update, February 2021

By Chris Winfield

Welcome to our February update!
Here at Swiftcomplete, we’re creating technology to help our customers instantly find any place, anywhere. One of our key aims for 2021 is to support our state-of-the-art search technology with the best available data.
We've made great progress so far this year, and we're excited to announce that Swiftcomplete is now a Royal Mail Solutions Provider.

What this means

At the moment, our Places API contains street-level data, which is great for geocoding and general searching, but means that you can't search for flats, addresses or businesses just yet.
Becoming a Royal Mail Solutions Provider means that this will change, and you'll soon have the choice of enabling the highest quality Royal Mail data on your API key.
Depending on your use-case, you'll be able to decide whether simple and effective street-level data is enough for you, or whether you need access to comprehensive and postally-verified address data.

When will it be available?

We've already started the process of integrating the Royal Mail Postcode Address File (PAF) dataset into the Swiftcomplete Places API. We're really excited about how it's looking and we can't wait to share it with you soon.
We're aiming to begin enabling access to the Royal Mail dataset through the Places API in our next release.
If you'd like a demo or want to find out more, contact us and we'll be happy to chat about how the Swiftcomplete Places API can work for you.

Summary

This is our first partnership of many - we have two more in the pipeline that we'll be announcing shortly. Keep an eye out for our next product update in March!
